Dylan Thiam October 19, 2026 API Strategy, Features, Monetization App Studio: build landing pages and apps from your API catalogue What it does Who it's for How it works Key benefits and uses Try it! For: marketing teams, product owners, developers App Studio lets you describe a page or a small app in plain language, and Opey builds it. Pages read your live API catalogue, so products, endpoints and banks stay current without manual edits. It started when a bank asked for a business mini-site presenting its API products, one its marketing team could update without engineering help. What it does App Studio has two modes: Page: a marketing page that lives in the Portal. Opey writes free HTML and CSS, and live blocks are filled from the catalogue on the server. App: a phone-sized web app that calls the OBP API. It runs sealed off from the Portal. In both modes the result runs in a preview next to the conversation. You can run it with Ctrl+Enter, copy or download the code, switch to phone width, or start from a Starter. Who it's for Business and product teams Build campaign pages, such as a hackathon, partner programme or developer launch page, without code. Keep product content in sync with the catalogue. Publish without waiting for a deployment. Developers Prototype an app against the API in minutes. Opey sees the app’s console and API calls, so it can fix errors itself. Take the code with you: copy it or download it. How it works Describe it. For example: “a hackathon page with a countdown, three product cards and a register button.” Preview and refine. Ask Opey for changes until it looks right. Publish. Pages go live inside the Portal. Apps are published on a separate campaign hostname. Pages use five live-data tags (products, endpoints, banks, sign-up and stats) and declared behaviours such as tabs and countdowns. The Page Blocks demo shows two example pages built from the same blocks: a dark, bold hackathon page and a light, editorial partner programme page. Key benefits and uses App Studio gives marketing and product teams a way to publish pages without engineering, and gives developers a quick way to prototype on the live API. Key benefits Marketing publishes pages without an engineering review or a deployment. Content comes from the live catalogue, so it doesn’t go stale. Design isn’t limited to templates, because Opey writes free HTML and CSS. Pages carry no author-written script. Apps are sealed off from the Portal, and anything that writes to the API waits for a human click. Apps call OBP with your own access or a consent, so the usual permissions apply. Example use cases A hackathon page with a countdown, product cards and a register button. A “Build on our APIs” developer launch page showing the live endpoint count and popular products. A partner programme page for onboarding fintechs. A phone-sized demo app, such as a banks list or a “my accounts” screen, for a sales meeting. Try it! Open App Studio in your API Manager and describe your first page, or contact us for a demo!
